Hedgestown National School

Music plays an integral part of life in Hedgestown. As well as performing in class and at Religious

ceremonies, children are encouraged to enjoy and appreciate all types of music.

The choir practice each week with Miss Breslin. They sing each year at the Graduation Mass, the Parish Carol Service and at our Sacrament celebrations.

Every Friday Ms. Matthews teaches to children from 1st class to 6th class tin whistle. Children also

sing nearly everyday in their classrooms.

In the past the pupils have studied how an orchestra performs and have enjoyed trips to the

National Concert Hall.

Mr. Kirk often comes to the school to play his guitar and sing with us.
